267 Million Facebook User Records for Sale on Dark Net

Millions of Facebook user IDs and other user information is being offered for sale on the darkweb, according to cybersecurity intelligence firm Cyble

One of the threat actors have dropped an online bomb by dropping the identities of 267 Million Facebook Users for 500 Euros — the details include their EMAIL, FNAME, LNAME, PHONE, FACEBOOK ID, LAST CONNECTION, STATUS, AGE.

Cyble researchers executed the sale and were able to download and verify the data. The impacted users will be able to verify this on Cyble’s data breach monitoring platform, AmIbreached.com shortly.

Cyble sais that it can not retrieve how the data got leaked bit sais that it might be due to a leakage in third-party API or scrapping. Given the data contain sensitive details on the users, it might be used by cybercriminals for phishing and spamming.

Cyble recommends users to tighten their privacy settings on their Facebook profiles, and be cautious of unsolicited emails and text messages. Cyble is currently indexing the data at its darkweb monitoring platform.
